Featured Artist: Tania Love

Tania Love is a Toronto-based artist who draws inspiration for her work from the natural and cultural environment. With a keen interest in materials, she creates tactile pieces that invite slower rhythms and relationship to natural cycles.

Exploring the intersection between traditional methods and innovative expressions, she creates textile pieces using plant-based inks and dyes.  On foraging walks in and around Toronto, Love collects plants that are abundantly available to make small batch inks and dyes. Her hand-screen-printed images are based on her drawings of botanical and architectural references.  She values nuance and variation that result from the handmade process.
