Qiatsuq Ragee (b. 1966)
Qiatsuq Ragee was born in Tikiraq on the west side of Cape Dorset. His parents were Quppapik and Arninik Ragee and has 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Qiatsuq has four children with his common law wife Sarah Samayualie and they have one grandchild. Qiatsuq began to study art in 2001 through the Adult Learning Centre in Cape Dorset under the instruction of Kyra Fisher. He and a selection of students also had the opportunity to travel to Calgary, Alberta to show their art work. Qiatsuq used to carve in 1980’s and 1990’s, but is now primarily a graphic artist whose work focuses on the animals of the Arctic.
