Allan Shutiapik learned to carve when he was a child by watching other carvers. Like many Inuit artists, his favourite subject is the polar bear.
Allan continues to grow as an artist and develop his skills, and his pieces have been exhibited worldwide. In 2006, Allan won best movement in Ice Sculpture at the Toonik Time Festival in Iqaluit.
