Johnny is a man of few words. He learned to carve with hand tools by himself. He prefers to work small. Stylistically, one can see similarities with the work of his uncle Ashevak Tunnillie and his brother Markusie. He has not yet evolved his own individual style.
Johnny’s work is shown in a number of galleries in Canada and the United States, including Inuit Art Zone in Quebec City; Eskimo Art Gallery in Toronto; the Grey Dog Trading Company in Tucson, Arizona; and Long Ago & Far Away Gallery in Manchester Center, Vermont.
