Walking Bear

by Koomuatuk Sapa Curley

Inuit sculpture by Koomuatuk Sapa Curley, a third generation carver from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut.

Koomuatuk’s artistic practice embraces the Ashoona family creative legacy. He uses traditional carving tools like axes, chisels, and hand files; but also sculpts with modern implements such as grinders and drills, through which he developed his unique style.
