Issac Qumak is an Inuk artist based in Salluit (NU) who specializes in sculpture. He is best known for his serpentine sculptures of whales and other marine animals. His work can be found in many galleries across Canada.
Salluit (formerly Sugluk) is the second most northern Inuit community, and sits between high, rugged mountains at the far end of the narrow Sugluk Inlet, 10 kilometres inland from Hudson Strait.
