Asymmetric M Earrings
This series of earrings is modeled after the macrophage immune cell. A sterling silver hollow form with a hand cut design, appears to be floating on a "stem". A choice of needled felt, fills the cutout for a pop of colour.
Sterling silver, needled felt.
1.7w x .5d x 6 cm length.
Robin Cassady-Cain launched her jewellery collection in 2019, the culmination of three aspects of interest: goldsmithing, textiles and biology.
Themes of the immune system have been created into sculptural jewellery pieces, including stem cells and mytometrical cells.
Robin's designs are informed by shape, line and texture and are mainly made in sterling silver and gold. The incorporation of precious and semi-precious gemstones and textiles, including felt, are ways that Robin adds a pop of colour to the designs!
