Studio is the Canadian platform for conversations and explorations about making.

Each issue of Studio includes industry insights, features, reviews and interviews from across Canada focused on a wide array of creators, makers, artists and designers. The issues themselves are beautifully designed, full of documentation and evocative imagery.

Studio works towards building a considerable archive of documentation of Canadian creators; engaging directly with historical and contemporary social issues through Canadian craft and design; supporting and championing Canadian artists and their work; and, deliberately and conscientiously working towards inclusion and representation.

Studio publishes articles that invite new ways of considering objects through the object’s production, materiality, purpose, application, location, and flow through (public and private) spaces.

Testimonials

“I always enjoy turning the pages of Studio when it arrives… the material is beautifully presented.  Then I dive into the articles that are filled with themes and issues that challenge and define the breadth and depth of what craft is and its relevance to contemporary culture.  It always leaves me wanting more!"

“The importance of Studio Magazine to the fields of craft and design in Canada cannot be overstated. The innovative approach to showcasing the wide range of work being produced across the country sets this magazine apart from any other medium-focussed periodical, and we are very fortunate to have this critical and beautifully presented voice representing what we do, as well as introducing us to what we don’t do.”
